The holidays can be a time of great joy and a time of great stress. They are an opportunity to celebrate yourself and those you hold near and dear, but we tend to get over stressed, over tired and over fed and then just over it. This presents us with the opportunity to take better care of ourselves and give ourselves the gift of support. Let’s face it, life can be hectic at any time of the year, it just gets compounded at this time. Because of this I like to keep it simple and focus on the basics, in this case water.

First, drink water. It’s easy. The average human is 60% water. It nourishes our cells. It helps keep our immune system strong and infection at bay by flushing away toxins.  Water does not take the place of food, but without water, we often think we are hungry and overeat.

If you have a dry throat, mouth or are excessively thirsty you are dehydrated. The formula for how much water you should drink is to divide your body weight in half. The result is the amount of water you should drink in ounces. For example, if you weigh 130lbs and divide it by 2, then you should drink 65 ounces of water a day. But what if you don’t drink any? Then start with 2 8-oz glasses. That is great! What if you don’t like the taste of water? The first issue is to make sure you are drinking some good quality water. Yes, it all tastes different and your body can tell! Drink filtered water.

This is a water system that transforms the water’s molecule structure from a cluster into a linear formation and energetically entrains it. This makes it easier to be absorbed and utilized by the cell. Click the image for order information.

Add fruit or an essential oil to your water. There is lemon, lime and orange, but cinnamon or ginger are also great, especially in hot water in the winter. Click the image to explore more essential oils and to place your order.
